Local Resident Opens Bed & Breakfast after
delays due to Covid-19

Canandaigua, NY – August 1, 2021 Travelers now have a new option for lodging in the heart of Canandaigua. The Cardinal Inn, an historic 1880 colonial, located on 18 Bristol St is now accepting reservations after a long wait to open due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Small business owners have had a difficult time during this pandemic, forcing temporary closures or even completely going out of business.

Upon your arrival you will be greeted by our hostess Lisa Frey. You can choose from 3 bedrooms to stay in that each include WiFi, cable tv, and air conditioning. Each room has access to a gorgeous vintage claw foot bathtub/shower located down the hall from the guest rooms. On September 10, 2021, Lisa will be hosting an opening house at The Cardinal Inn. There will be refreshments, appetizers, and tours. A prize drawing will be held to help support the Salvation Army of Canandaigua.

The Cardinal Inn is located within walking distance of a variety of shops and delicious restaurants along Main St. “I really enjoy the relaxed feel of the city,” says Lisa, owner and hostess of the inn. “All of the wonderful restaurants, shops and festivals are what I enjoy most about living in Canandaigua.”

When you book a room at The Cardinal Inn, you’ll have your choice of the The Blue Bird, The Golden Finch or The Baltimore Oriole. The Inn has a cozy eclectic Adirondack feel. Lisa loves to explore antique and second hand stores and found most of the decor from these shops.

The name of the Inn is inspired from the antique bird figures and pictures Lisa has collected over the years. She loves the spiritual meaning of what several birds represent. Gold Finches are spirit carriers and Cardinals represent peace and tranquility. “When cardinals appear, angles are near,” is a phrase Lisa has enjoyed and believed in.

Each room has access to a gorgeous vintage claw foot bathtub/shower located down the hall from the guest rooms. Blow dryer, towels and bath essentials are provided for each guest. A breakfast buffet will be served in the dining room with a variety of fruit, muffins, yogurt, nuts, quiche, hard boiled eggs, bacon and sausage, pancakes, hash browns, breakfast casseroles and a variety of juices, teas and coffee. In the afternoon, guests can enjoy the picturesque backyard or relax in the front sitting room while enjoying a cup of coffee.

“I am thrilled to finally open my doors after this long wait and many set backs,” says Lisa. Lisa is anticipating attracting customers who are eager to get out and explore after being cooped up at home for over a year.
